New Delhi, Jun 24 (PTI) : The Trinamool Congress on Saturday demanded an all-party delegation be sent to violence-hit Manipur within a week as it questioned the Centre’s handling of the situation and wondered if the government was “trying to turn Manipur into Kashmir”.
During an all-party meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on the situation in the northeastern state, TMC’s Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien accused the Centre of “ignoring” the needs of the people of Manipur, the party said in a statement.
Leaders of different political parties, including the BJP, Congress, TMC, Left parties and others, are taking part in the meeting which is underway.
